St. Margaret's Episcopal Church

Loving, Growing and Sharing the Good News in Emmaus, Pennsylvania

The Green Team

A Green Team has been formed with 2 goals in mind:

  • To investigate ways to make St. Margaret's Church more environmentally friendly; look for ways to be good stewards of creation and of the abundance God has given us.
  • Share with our fellow parish members, and our community, ways we can all be good stewards of the environment.

Our members include: Carla Holdridge, Ken Schaffner, Marion Stewart, Sara Cardinale, Betsy Diely, Lexa Shallcross, Dan Cardinale, Jill Tillotson and Sally West (Captain).

During our first meeting we decided to investigate several areas: environmentally friendly roofs and shingles, what technology is available to help us change, grants and help from legislators, an inventory of the parish to uncover ways to improve, and how to reach out to the community with our knowledge.

We are looking for people to explore available technologies like solar, wind and geothermal power and others who want to help raise awareness in our fellowship on ways to conserve. Please speak to Sally West or e-mail GreenTeam@stmargaretsemmaus.org.

Check out our links to Websites that have information about the environment and ways you can help reduce our impact.

+Almighty God, in giving us dominion over things on earth, you made us fellow workers in your creation: Give us wisdom and reverence so to use the resources of nature, that no one may suffer from our abuse of them, and that generations yet to come may continue to praise you for your bounty; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
