The Parish Cycle of Prayer

The Worship Committee has developed the "Parish Cycle of Prayer" to highlight the gifts and contributions of our parish members.  Use one of the response forms to let us know if you would like to highlight someone. It is posted on the bulletin board off the Parish Hall. You may also send an e-mail to this site.

October 17, 2004 -  Today, as we look at all of the children and young people in our parish community, we remember all those children whose lives are touched by hunger, fear or injustice. Remembering that all of us are children of God we pray that with God’s help each one of us will find ways to care and to share and to help children who are in need.

October 10, 2004 -  Today we remember the Holdridge Family: Carla and Mike and their children, Christopher, Jeffery, Leigh Anne and Timothy. Carla and Mike are the chair “couple” for our Annual Talent Auction (Nov. 6) and with Tim, they regularly serve at the altar. We give thanks for the depth of their commitment. Pray that families may grow closer through their worship and service to Christ and the Church.

October 3, 2004 - Today we remember Marian and Bill Stewart. Marian is a Vestry member and schedules our chalice bearers and readers for worship. She is a faithful servant working behind the scenes. We are thankful for all the gifts she shares and uses. Pray for all those whose lives enrich our fellowship.

September 26, 2004 - Today we remember the Bachman Family: Rochelle and her daughter Cierra worship here. Rochelle is the Director's Assistant for St. Margaret's Nursery School and Cierrais in the Church School. We are thankful that they are putting down roots here. We pray that God will continue to bless us with new faces and people eager to live the Christian faith.

August 29, 2004 - Today we remember Jack and Marion Shannon, who are long-time members of our parish. This August they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. Faithful servants, they are regular in worship and service. Jack is one of the founding members of the EpiscoPals and Marion continues to serve as an altar guild member. We give thanks for their joyfull presence with us. Pray that we all may have the grace to live with thankful hearts and willing hands.

Marilyn has been a faithful Church School teacher for many years and Ian periodically reminds us of St. Margaret's roots in Scotland. See more of their story on the Parish timeline downstairs. Pray for all families; that they may be filled with faith and godliness and knit together in affection.

August 15, 2004 - Today we remember our "Great Cloud of Witnesses" - all the saints of St. Margaret's who now live in the near presence of God. Our new carpet in the nave was purchased with accumulated Memorial Funds. We dedicate it today to the Glory of God and in the honor of all those we love but see no longer. We live in the vertain hope of the Resurection.

August 8, 2004 - Today we remember Joan Brown. She is an EFM student, member of Renewal and Evangelism and Altar Guild. Last week she led a "Spiritual Journaling Workshop." We give thanks for her committment, enthusiasm and the grace with which she explores the spiritual life of service and devotion. Pray that we may all be rewarded in our spiritual journeys.

Many ministries flourish because of the deep roots they are putting down in our community. In education, evangelism, music and worship, men's and women's ministries, and several small groups, they add excitement and new ideas. Jill coordinates the Holiday Cookie Sale. Three times she served on the Vestry, was an active member of both the Altar Guild and the Women of St. Margaret's ECW - including being president, was a church school teacher and choir member. We give thanks for her steadfast faith and presence through good, and hard, times. We pray God will help us live, love and serve day by day.
