Want to Get Started?
Materials:
Writing Instrument - pen , pencil, crayons, markers, etc..
Journal - books that lie flat work best, also allow yourself the freedom of no lines on your pages. The urge to sketch, write in a circle or a path will not be hindered by the lines.
Rules:
#1 - Date your entries
#2 - There are no other rules
Now what?
"The best way..is just to start writing. Don't worry about your spelling or grammar. Turn off the critical voices within you and just write. The thoughts may not be very profound, but they are your thoughts. The words may not be very eloquent, but they are your words....Take up your pen and start writing, whether you feel like it or not, and the words will come."
Ronald Klug, How to Keep A Spiritual Journal, (Minneapolis, MN, Augsburg Books, 1993)p. 36
Once started, set aside time each day to make an entry. Remember quantity is not the issue, however long or short your entry may be - it's your thoughts, feelings, and insights for that day. This would be an ideal time to put your thoughts down concerning your scripture reading.
